This is the fifth webinar in the series and it focuses on the famine era and its impact on Tralee. Also the impact of the ‘Great Hunger’ on the workhouse and adjoining cemetery in Tralee will be explored. In the webinar Helen O Carroll (Curator at Tralee County Museum) will outline and reveal in detail, her research and revelations regarding famine burials in Tralee. The famine of the 1840’s was without doubt one of the darkest realms in our recent past and Helen has done extraordinary research in this area.
