Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society is committed to maintaining the privacy of all its members and contributors.

To this end, we wish to advise the following: Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society collects members’ personal data on a voluntary interacting basis out of their own volition through our membership application and renewal system. These details include names/physical addresses/email addresses/bank details (if paying by direct debit in any of the procedures as outlined). We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society data is collected for the purposes of contacting members regarding renewal of their membership subscriptions, payment of subscriptions and forthcoming lectures and outings and is restricted to this.

For insurance purposes members and guests are asked to sign an attendance sheet at all Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society lectures and outings. Personal data is collected for the purposes of keeping members apprised of upcoming events of interest, primarily those hosted by Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society, but on occasion, those hosted by other historically and archaeologically oriented organizations; and for sending membership renewal reminders and is restricted to this.

Data is also collected from contributors to the Journal of the Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society and The Kerry Magazine through contact with the respective designated editors of both publications. This data is collected to facilitate communication and editing purposes with the contributors and so that a brief biographical note regarding each of them may appear in both publications and is restricted to this.

Members have the option of not receiving event notices; however, Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society retains the right to contact members with renewal reminders, and to distribute indicated publications, which form part of the membership subscription.

Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society does not, nor will not, provide personal data to third parties. Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society has a policy of not disseminating members’/contributors’ contact details. Should a member or contributor request a third party’s contact details, Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society will forward the request directly to the member/contributor involved.

Members who do not wish to re-subscribe will have their personal data erased upon notifying Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society in writing or by other verifiable electronic communication. Members who do not renew their subscription within a twelve-month calendar period of receiving a renewal notice will have their personal data deleted from our database at the end of that period.

We operate social media platforms. These platforms are, in most cases, operated outside of the EU and do not comply with current European GDPR provision although they may well conform to the U.S Privacy Shield protocol. It is our process and protocol that any personally identifiable data gathered on these platforms is only in response to users interacting out of their own volition with our pages and is restricted to this.

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.
